Hello! Been a long time not writing any music journal here. So uh, I, recently being so addicted to Japanese music, arts & traditions, then I would love to introduce you some of Nihon Gems that would make you amaze (hehe!)

1. 和楽器バンド
Name in romaji (or so how non-japanese called them with) Wagakki Band. Have you ever heard some Japanese anime or movie soundtrack from Edo scene era? lots of their wonderful traditional instrument harmony, ne? Yes, this Wagakki band are the first that amazed me SO MUCH! and then, I fall for them at the first heard, and get eargasm at the same time. INSTANTLY. WHY? They combining some j-rock/alternative/folk music with.. JAPANESE TRADITIONAL INSTRUMENT? Shamisen, Koto, Shakuhachi, Wadaiko. Not to mentioned to their quiet-skilled guitarist, bassist, drummer, and their unique vocalist. Ah, you SHOULD give a try to heard 'em, REALLY. They're MORE than just beautiful, MORE than that.

2. Lamp
This one is another fav. Found them while random youtube searching about Japanese music, then bam! I found them. Since I, mostly, and hardly, fall into such 60s/50s pop/jazz music too, no wonder I got excited when I found them. They are Japanese folk/pop/vintage music band. Formed by three person only, and heavily influenced by 60s American music, well, I bet you could imagine well what their music like then :)

3. チャラン・ポ・ランタン
Name in romaji Charan Po Rantan, a duo sister group. Playing some SUPER interesting circus music. Haha. I can't find a words to describe their music, though :p
Overall, they combine folk/pop music with circus like things. Their live were also using some help of Cancan Balkan (japanese brass marching band) and (sometimes) also with live circus acts on stage, on which, makes them COOL for me.

4. Shugo Tokumaru
He's the one-man-on-stage which I, recently addicted with. Folk mainly represent his music well. ALL OF his tracks were NEVER get bored to have listen, believe me. I will recommend ALL OF YOU to give a try to his two albums : Exit and L.S.T. His music is REALLY interesting, combining folk music with lots of abstract instrument sounds, electronically traditional awesome (meh, what did I just said? lol). Green Rain is my fav tracks, why? Idk, I just always feels like Den-liner (the one that Kamen Rider Den-O has, in case you don't know. lol) is somewhat come to pick me up travelling into parallel world. Haha

5. Yuko Ishibashi
I'm gonna quit talking about Japanese 'unique' music for a while. Here is the female-singer, with new age/celtic/folk music. If you an Enigma/Enya, you SHOULD listen her as well too. This quiet interesting for me, combining those new age/celtic/medieval music with Japanese style. Not to mentioned Kitaro has already did (almost) the same with medieval/new age music, but he's a bit different for me. Since he's sounds more like oriental new-age music for me. Oh ya, in case you don't know, one of her tracks are also included in Saint Seiya soundtrack series.

6. Gutevolk
Anyone here addicted, or just, fall for such electronic music? Well then you should give a try to listen Gutevolk. Have you heard such Japanese electronic musician like, Piana? Well I could say Gutevolk's sounds quiet similar with Piana, in my opinion though, feel free to say I was wrong! hehe. Gutevolk recently been on my playlist in the morning to have cup of coffee and started my crafting time, their music is somehow, lightly fun.
